Round table on trade and economic cooperation between Tajikistan and Austria

On March 3, 2023, in Vienna, at the headquarters of the Association of Austrian Chambers of Commerce (WKO), a round table was held on the topic of opportunities for trade and economic cooperation between Tajikistan and Austria.

The meeting was opened by the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan Sharaf Sheralizoda, the Vice President of the Association of Austrian Chambers of Commerce (WKO) Patrick Sagmeister and Co-Chairman of the Joint Economic Commission, Head of the Foreign Economic Relations Group of the Austrian Federal Ministry of Labor and Economics Franz Wessig. The event was also attended by representatives of various departments of the Association of Austrian Chambers of Commerce and representatives of the World Bank, the Austrian Bank “Kontrollbank AG” and business circles of the two countries.

During the event, officials stressed the need to expand economic and commercial cooperation, attract capital and implement joint projects in priority areas, and Austrian companies expressed interest in establishing cooperation with Tajikistan in the areas of renewable energy, green economy, industry, digitalization, modern technologies, medicine, tourism, especially the development of winter tourism and mountaineering.

The event was followed by bilateral meetings of companies in the B2B format.
