On December 11, 2024 at the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) Headquarters in Paris a meeting was held between the First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan Mr. Ismatullo Nasredin and UNESCO Assistant Director-General for Natural Sciences Ms. Lidia Brito.

On November 26, 2024, an online meeting was held between the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan, Mr. Sirojiddin Muhriddin and Lidia Brito, the UNESCO’s Assistant Director-General for Natural Sciences.

During the meeting, the parties discussed the preparation for the upcoming “International Conference on Glacier Preservation” in Tajikistan in 2025. The parties emphasised the danger of glacier melting in Central Asia, especially in light of the impact of climate change on water resources in the region. At the same time, aspects of potential joint co-operation for monitoring glacier melt, assessing environmental problems and developing adaptation strategies for local communities that depend on glacial lake systems were considered.

On April 11, 2024 the Permanent Representative of the Republic of Tajikistan to the UN Office and other international organizations in Geneva Mr. Sharaf Sheralizoda met with the Director General of the World Health Organization Dr. Tedros Adhanom Gebreyesus.

During the meeting, the sides discussed the cooperation between Tajikistan and the WHO, achievements in the health sector related to SDGs, and the implementation of the health programs and strategies.

On 21 September 2023 a meeting of the Permanent Representative of the Republic of Tajikistan to the United Nations Office and other international organizations in Geneva, Mr. Sharaf Sheralizoda with the Regional Director of the ILO Regional Office for Europe and Central Asia, Ms. Beate Andrees was held in Geneva.

 

 

 

 

During the meeting a cooperation between Tajikistan and the International Labour Organization, implementation of specific cooperation projects and exchange of experience as well as issues of submission of reports of Tajikistan to the Conventions of the Organization has been discussed.
